Many of the East Coast rides do not allow electric fence, except during
daylight...some state forest don't allow them at all.  The problem is rarely
with YOUR horse, but someone else's who gets lose and runs through it,
especially during the night.

The Pan Am Championships will NOT allow ANYTHING except SOLID fence...

Picket lines are great is done right. And even corrals can be a problem if
you have an "instigator" horse or too small a pen.
