RideCamp@endurance.net
non-refundable entry fees
As half of a ride management team, I can see both sides. For our ride,
we usually offer a full refund if you can't make it for whatever reason,
because while we know how hard that can make it on us, we also know how
hard we scrape to come up with the entry fees to the rides that we
ride. This is provided the person asks, and we prefer advance notice
but sometimes that isn't possible. We also first offer to apply it
towards the next year (we've done that a couple of times already).
Rides are expensive to put on, and our feeling is that if riders know
they can get a full refund if something happens, they are more likely to
pre-enter and give us working capital!
Mickie and Akela (who has been doing this for 10 years and is taking it
easy this year, thank-you very much!)
