Trailer tying
While mostly being a lurker and fairly new to this great sport (one 25 and
one 25 R&T), I will attest to the dangerous complications of tying a horse
to a trailer. I own a horse that when something gives somewhat when she is
tied, everything brakes loose. This horse was tied to my trailer in my field
while "training" and she pulled back, flipped and was on her back. Next,
her front feet slid under the edge of the trailer. I must say that she was
very lucky and only came out with a few dings, but the horror of watching
her twist and roll while the rope was too taught to even do a quick release
was unbearable. Now we have an arrangement, it's either behind a solar
fence or just held by me.
Peace, Karen
