It sounds like you need people electrolytes. Try a sports drink
like gatorade or a tablet like Marine Minerals. There's also
powdered mixes like ERG. For conditioning try bike riding. It
uses the same muscles as riding and strengthens those thigh
muscles. There's a good book out called Fit to Finish with a lot of
good info too.
