Re: Spooky Stuff/Cindy Bell

 I was holding off on contributing my best spook story, but after I heard 
from Cindy tonight it kinda made me nostalgic . In 1992 Cindy had just 
acquired Wameco from me. I was between horses so I had one of her mares, 
Selah.  I loved her, even if she did spook when the breeze would touch her 
butt......I just thougt she was eccentric.  Cindy thinks she is neurotic 
(what's in  a word?)  Anyway, I was riding alone (not Selahs favorite thing), 
on a long dirt road with a canal on my right side.  Things were going well 
until this HUGE front endloader--road scraper came out in front of us from a 
joining road on the right,( and yes it was scraping the road)  Selah froze, 
still as a statue, her heart pounding on my leg....and as this monster gets 
closer, I remember she IS neurotic, not eccentric.  I have no where to 
go.......dive into the canal on my right, forward into the monster who is 
making a left turn onto our road toward us.  And certainly not left ....again 
into moving monster.  I am talking to my all of my dead relatives.  A miracle 
occurs......she never moved.......and even when the monster was way passed 
us...she still would't move even with some help with a crop............her 
heart still pounding..against my leg.......eyes fixed always 
ahead............what's that I see???? Another rider coming toward us?  
Yes.....but what IS he on?   It's fast motion everywhere......sand digging, 
mane flying, legs like a whirlybird........ Selah says: " OH MY GOD !! We're 
outta here" !!!! ZOOM!!  right past the Paso Fino.! 
And while on the topic of Cindy's horses.....a BIG CONGRATS to Cindy and Meko 
(Wameco) for making the short list for the Pan Am Games this August.
