Spooky stuff -

One spring, about 15 years ago, I was trotting my gelding Nadir up the road 
when he suddenly slammed on the brakes.  Looking around, I could find nothing 
that would have made him do this, so I asked him to continue.  Absolute, 
total refusal!  Not being a horse prone to this sort of reaction, I was very 
puzzled.  Then it came to me ... Bzzzz, bzzz, bzzz... Nadir was kept in a 
pasture with electric fencing and as most of them, knew the sound of a 
charger.  Up ahead in a garage was a man using a welder.  Nadir could hear 
the Bzzz and it was a BIGGER Bzzzz than he'd ever heard before, but he 
couldn't see the fence.  He wasn't about to move for fear he'd run into it.  
I just turned him back the way we had come that day and went a different 
route.  Next trip up that  same road, there was no Bzzz, so he continued on 
his merry way, and never gave it a scond thought.
