The
rules call for a horse & rider team, appropriately entered. Another
area that may apply is no pacing or hazing by an un-entered equine. (Sorry
- I'm not good enough to quote the cahpter & verse off of the top of my
head.)
Also,
if the horse isn't entered, I wouldn't think that the vets would be obligated to
check it. I'd like to have my horse checked!
ABSOLUTELY no reason not to take the "spare" for the camping
experience if the ride has adequate space in the base camp, though. Then,
go do some LD if it is a beginner. A lot of rides around here have 2 days
of endurance & 2 days of LD, so you can ride 2 horses in one
weekend.

Hi yall. I don't feel like reading, so
I'm taking the short cut by posting my question here. Is there a rule
that prohibits "ponying" a horse during an endurance ride?
