Re: RC: Being Judged (was Look for a horse)
Hi April,
You may get some flames for this one but I just wanted to say that I
started in CTR (UMECRA) last year, learned TONS about distance riding
period, am STILL learning, will still ride CTR with young horses and to
have a break from endurance and the opportunity to enjoy a ride with my
CTR friends and though I know nothing about NATRC, I think I might have
been discouraged had judging been involved. That's what I like best
about distance riding (besides the people) is that I can wear what I
want, use the tack that works for me and look absolutely goofy and it
doesn't matter...I don't WANT to "show" except for an occasional fun
show where we participate in running some barrels or pole bending, etc.
for FUN! I have long wanted to take some dressage or other riding
lessons but fear I might be overly sensitive like you...perhaps I like
to think that I'm better than I really am, too. But my horse does well,
we don't have any problems going on so perhaps I shouldn't try to fix
what ain't broke???? :) Take care and have fun RIDING!!
