Whoh, if I had some of the obstacles posted tonight, I too would say no
way for NATRC. I have been riding NATRC for over 25 years and have never
come across things that bizarre. I have also done a few endurance rides
and completed Tevis on one and only try (would still like to do again
someday). Why in the world would anyone want you to put horse's feet on
stump? Natural obstacles are really the chosen route by most judges (at
least here on the west coast). I agree that the ones out there doing
well in endurance probably don't need the lessons that NATRC teaches, but
I'll bet there are some people on the lower level out there who could
learn a little if they were willing to listen. I am sure some NATRC
riders could also learn from the endurance riders (I know I see a lot
more information on Ride Camp than I do on the CTR list). Anyway, it is
an age-old quest, but would love to have us all co-mingle. Of course, I
also believe in multi-use trails where feasible. I for one plan to do
the Fireworks LD (as haven't done an endurance ride for a long time) and
hope to see some of the faces to go with the names I see on this list.

Heidi's comments were well put. Carol
