Oregon Trail

The Oregon Trail went east to west and was not so much a specific trail
as a "Way".  If you're thinking of south to north do you mean the
Pacific Crest Trail?  There is a web site for info on the Pacific Crest
Trail that may answer some of your questions.  I feel that you should be
warned that the PCT is not safe for horse travel in its entirety.  I
have ridden most of the PCT in Washington State and a friend lost a much
loved horse in an accident on the PCT caused by poor trail maintenance
or rather lack of maintenance.  Do not expect good trail info from the
US Forest Service.
