RE: Hackamore use
My husband and I both use a biothane halter bridle with a hackamore. We
like it and had no problems. My bridle is a 5/8 inch and my husbands is
3/4 inch. The hackamores attach to the halter with snaps and are easy
to drop when we come into camp. Just be sure you don't get in a hurry
to leave camp and put the hackamore on upside down. :>)

I had the same dilemma. I had a beautiful halter bridle and tried it.
It just
looked terrible. I finally sold the halter bridle and I now use a 1/4
inch rope
halter under a regular headstall with my hackamore. Works great.
