Kaboot never did a 25. I got him in March, greenbroke, and we started
finishing 50's in Sept. He had 850 miles put on him in 3 years, then we
tried a 100. I never really "raced" him in a 50 until after he'd done a
couple of 100's. I honestly didn't think he had the speed for it, but
somehow after the 100's he was suddenly much better at 50's. But the
longer distance, more moderate pace agrees with him more I think.
Lynda Corry gave me this advice about doing 100's. "You don't train any
harder than you do for 50's, you just do it for more years". That seemed
to work.
