Interesting question. My opinion is that the solid mouth
Kimberwicke is milder because it does not have the snaffle's
nutcracker action. Or, at any rate, it can be used in a
mild way with less finesse. The only exception *might* be
a 3-piece mouthpiece Kimberwicke, like the one I saw in the
Miller's catalog and the one (somewhat different) that Jasmine
saw in the Libertyville catalog. It is generally held
that a 3 piece snaffle is milder than a 2 piece snaffle.
However, this isn't a bit I've ever tried.
Be sure to get the Uxeter (the one with the slots in the
ring) so you have a choice of strengths.
