Did you stand in the stirrups the whole time?  Sometimes you spend more
time posting and sitting on training rides, but they trot big in
competition and you concentrate all your weight forward.

Is your horse's back "downhill" as in rump high?  It could be that your
saddle fits O.K. but is working it's way forward...a crupper may help. 
There's an article by Sharon Saare in this months Endurance News about
rump high conformation and saddle fit.  Trail Blazer had an excellent
series written by the maker of the SR saddles.  Look at your saddle while
on the horse and see if it nosedives.  You may just need to add padding
in front to level it.
