Yes, Maureen I do the same in cold weather.  I also put bits in my pick-up 
while I am driving to warm them up.  I forgot to mention I always wear gloves 
that is why I didn't notice how hot the bit was. I thought he didn't want to 
go on or there was something wrong with him until I realised the problem.
