Actually, only the "K" of CMK refers to Kellogg. One can have CMK with no
Kellogg breeding at all if the pedigree traces back to other CMK sources
(Crabbet itself, Maynesboro/WR Brown, the James Dean circle in the Midwest,
Homer Davenport, etc.). The sire line and the dam line must be CMK and the
horse must have at least 75% of the pedigree CMK in order to qualify. With a
horse that is 75% CMK with a CMK dam line and a Spanish sire line, if that
Spanish sire line happened to be from Crabbet, then as far as I know, the
horse would qualify. Determining the actual source of the sire line would be
the determining factor here if the pedigree percentage is correct.
