Hello Out There!!! Herd mentality? How about how you're HEARD by others or want-to-be-heard mentality? First there were horses with their alphas and ranking, then there was and maybe, just maybe, still is the RIDECAMP herding behavior! Like who sides with whom, who lays down the law, who kicks and bites and squeals and who needs to be separated from the herd, and who is let back in, etc. Can anyone figure out the herd mentality in this here bunch lately? Some are still sweating bullets over a past, possible "bellowing" directed at them. Others shrug their shoulders and keep surfing the messages. Some need separate paddocks, some need basic training (ground manners, in-hand manners and computer manners! I think the hardest things to learn are the simplest. If only we could think like an "animal" - we might make more sense. A bunch of us need some good training - if we can get stallions to go on good behavior at rides, maybe some of the ridecampers can change? I love the exchange of ideas coming from all directions from ALL of you. I really enjoy having "our" vet, Heidi giving words of wisdom constantly, and all the other professional and amateur horse people sharing their insights. This feels like teamwork at its best when it's a good day - brainstorming sessions to help solve individual and group problems, so .... PLEASE everyone, be on good behavior and remember how important it is to share information and communicate peacefully! Don't get in a tiff and leave this group! I think everyone has lots of information to pass on to this group consciousness!! (and, besides, it's a rough winter around here, and what else is there to do on a cold winter night? Hear what all parts of the country have to say about something we're all interested in - horses!) One of the best things about being alive -- using what we humans have that the other critters don't have ..... advanced communications skills - correctly. Maybe we all need dressage lessons for ourselves - flex this muscle, that muscle, CONTROLLED movement. Okay, enough! End of a long day, and weary of observing childish brawls - you know what they say ... rise above it all! Karen in iced-over Pa. Horses are shut-ins Cats are nappin' and time for me to zzzz-out!!! ___________________________________________________________________ You don't need to buy Internet access to use free Internet e-mail.
