I can give a one-rat sample that the oil has definitely put weight back on
my boy pretty quickly, and it's not making his poop slide out any faster
than normal. :) I started adding corn oil to Lakota's twice-daily beet
pulp mash about a month ago: we started with a "splash" and worked up to
1/2 cup twice a day over a 2-week period. He is cleaning his bucket out
every feeding, and continues to produce vast quantities of beautiful &
perfectly normal-looking apples. I was concerned about his having
well-oiled intestines, since Lakota is a Prodigious Producer of Poop and
occasionally inclineed to diarrhea when he's excited, but the oil doesn't
seem to have affected him that way at all, and he has gained a good bit of
weight too.
