Horse adventures on horseback.
At this point we are planning some SW horsepacking and truck-camping trips to
selected locations with selected parties in an effort to develop some feedback
for what will be more numerous and more widely available "adventures" starting
sometime in the late summer and fall. The next event is a winter horsepack
trip in February to the highest point in Texas. A place called McKittrick
Canyon in the Guadalupe Mountains ( for the most part in NM but on the border
with Texas. This will be combined with a short visit to what is one of the
most fabulous visual experiences you might ever have, the caverns at
Carlsbad, NM.
Again, the trips coming up are limited and intended to develop a list of
like-minded participants and potential destinations for what will be
basically custom designed excursions, built on input from the participants.
An "adventure society" of sorts where we will bring an particular theme or
subject into focus for each excursion; (i.e. photography, fly fishing,
archaeology, horse training, western literature, native medicine and herbs,
art, ornithology, old mines, etc.)
For selected trips we will have as a participant(s) noted individuals with
particular expertise or acclaim on the the subject of the trip.
So to that end, I am offering free excursions to persons who will help in
developing a list of interested parties and who will share their ideas toward
a schedule and program of continued events. What part of the country are you
in? Do you have friends or riding companions who could give me feed-back on
the kinds of "themes" or destinations they would be interested in (Colorado,
NM, Arizona, Utah) If so, pass this e-mail on to them or give them my
address. Ask that they tell me who referred them to me as I will "credit" you
with the contact and you very quickly have a free trip. Or..................if
you don't want to rat out your friends....I'm available for a pay as you go
deal. Can provide horses, equipment, transportation, etc. to about any
where in the SW. Also lots of stuff for non-riders as well.

Thanks Eleanor...Talk to me about the Guadalupe Mountain trip. Got a big gray
horse here who's missing you. We're timing it for the full moon. (the better
for howling my dear)
Sal and the boys may want to come on this one. Pretty aggressive ride into
rough country. Huge rock spires and what are some of the most isolated and
unusual plant and wildlife habitats in the SW. And the caverns.......you
won't believe those caverns. We're going to a newly opened section of the
caves.
