Lynette,

I tried switching my western fenders for English leathers because, like
you, I hated the stiff bulky feel of the fender and all the torque it put
on my leg. It took a whole day of sweatin' and swearin' to do it
and..........
Big Mistake!! I got pinched in places I never knew I had. I will NEVER do
that again. (and it seemed like such a good idea) <sigh>
Maybe you could try having softer fenders made from fabric, like the syn.
saddles have.
