Re: hobbles
Hi Johnna,
Depends on what you want to do and how your horse takes to hobbles.
Apache just needs the front, but I broke him to back ones as well. Some
people need both and a third to hobble the back to the front! I use the
back hobbles when I have to work on Apache's back legs and I'm afraid he'll
kick me. If your horse is clever and figures out how to move with the
hobbles, you'll probably want to go a different route if your goal is
keeping Lilium in the same zip code as you. If your goal is training to
stand still with something around the legs (and your horse is still mobile
with hobbles), you might want to try one of the long ways suggested for
training hobbles (don't remember who it was and I've deleted that message,
but it involved ropes before hobbles). Before doing that, make sure your
horse knows how to stand still on command. :)
