Re: Curiosity Shoeing question

Hi Trish,
over here in Australia my farrier charges $55 per horse for hot shoeing,
and $10 for a trim. He is more expensive than most around here
($35-$45) but he does a good job so I feel it is worth it. He also
doesnt charge me anything for travelling ( which is good because I live
about 40 mins from the nearest town!) and as I normally get three horses
shod and a trim for the other horse, I get a job lot at $150! I think
thats pretty good as our Aussie dollar is currently running at approx 65
cents to the American dollar. As an added bonus he also breaks in horses
(broke in my little mare and did a damn good job) and is gentle with the
horses if they play up. I had one farrier once that belted my horse
with a rasp fo being scared - he was shown the gate and told to not even
bother to try and finish the job.
