Re: RC: Medical Problem?
<<< Today I took him out for 4 1/2 hours,
up Mt. Diablo. He started out a bit slowly, needing urging to move
out. At one point he started stomping a hind foot, lashing at his
belly with his tail. I dismounted, but couldn't see a fly. I list-
ened, and his gut sounded normal. Another horse came along, and he
happily moved out. >>>
<What was the ambient temperature? This sounds like high body temp to me. It
takes some conditioning just to get a horse capable of dissipating
heat--especially that generated while climbing hills.

It was in the 60's today and he barely broke a sweat - just under
the saddle.
The reply about back pain jogged my memory - my brother-in-law has
started to teach Sorin to drive - last Saturday we had him pulling
a drag for about 40 minutes with my niece on it - the drag weighs
about 30 lbs, and my niece is about 10 years old, so it doesn't sound
like much weight - could that have strained his back?
