Hi All, I wrote in some time ago regarding an old mare I have that has arthritis in her front left knee. I received all sorts of suggestions for a preventative program. I had to start somewhere so I started with simply feeding her MSM, along with her regular vitamins. No chondroitin, no glucosamine which I had heard needed to be used with the MSM to be effective. To date she has been great, she has been rode quite regular, although it is mostly arena work and she is not being worked too hard, which is the intent. She has been on this MSM now for about 2 1/2 months. I am just wondering here now that she has a fairly good dose of MSM in her system, should I now introduce some chondroitin and glucosamine, some sort of a Flex Free type of product. Should I leave well enough alone. Here in Canada 1 lb of MSM costs $50.00 which lasts about a month, for me this gets quite expensive along with everything else. I will certainly so what ever I have to do for this mare at what ever costs, I just thought I would throw this out to you and get some of your opinions. Much appreciated.
