OF does not make a new wool numnah and bootie type combination, but they are
around $240!  I understand from others on the list, that they are very
poorly made also.

I use the Toklat woolback for my endurance cutback.  I tried it WITH the
booties initially and it was way, way too much pad (even on my narrow
horse).  Now I just use the Toklat alone, the booties left bare.  I worry a
bit about protecting the panels, but, perhaps that worry is unfounded.
Truthfully, the OF panels are probably far sturdier than leather panels!

As to the inserts, if you don't need them, I would not use them.  I try to
think of the motto of the medical field... "First do no harm."  To me, if
you need the inserts, the OF may very well not be the saddle for your horse.
Seems to me, they could interfere with the action of the panels.  This is
just my opinion, as I have not tried inserts on my OF.  Perhaps someone who
has will respond with first hand experience.

Hi.  I've heard that many of you have been using a woolback pad
with your OF saddle to prevent loin rubs.  I am thinking of buying one for
my endurance
cut back and was wondering if you use it intstead of the bootie
or do you use it in addition to the bootie.  It seems that with
the bootie it's gonna put my too far away from my horse.  Also,
do any of you have a woolback with the ultra cell inserts?  What
do you think of that idea?  I really love the wool best, I wish
OF would make a bootie from wool rather than synthetic.  I'd
appreciate any help on this before I spend the bucks on the
