Most horses that are conditioned well, can stand time off if they are in a 
pasture environment. They seem to maintain their conditioning well enough 
that 25 miles should not bother them. If he has never been in, endurance fit 
condition, he still should be able to do a slow 25 miles ride (not a fifty). 
Either way go out and enjoy the ride.
