To Silicone or Not to Silicone
My good friend rode the American River ride last weekend, and while she
finished the ride, her horse was foot sore after the ride. On Tuesday she
took him to the vet and she found sand underneath the silicone, underneath
the pads.
My question is this: When using pads, should we be injecting silicone under
them?
My horse will be having pads put on for the first time for the Wine Country
30 (her first ride). We use the same shoer and have been pretty happy with
his work, but I'm worried about my horse and my friend is worried about her
next ride with her horse. We generally get new shoes put on the week before
the ride.
Any input is greatly appreciated. SusanJ
