Paul and I were on a pre-ride of the Tevis trail, camped at Robinson
Flat and a bear strolled into camp after dark but before the last people
had gone to bed.  It investigated the back of one of the vehicles, nosed
around and left.  The horses were all alert, but none freaked out.  Some
people did, though!  Fortunately, no one did anything stupid, and all
the food had been stowed away carefully, so nothing came of it.  Lif
