Weird saddle pad
I just got a really weird saddle pad from Valley VEt Supply. I tis a western
pad with a surface on both sides like a honeycomb or something. It is a
neoprene feel, and is very flexible. Smells like an autoshop!
I got it because I thought it might relieve the back tension in my old
semiretired mare who STILL goes out, but is slightly swaybacked now and most
people who will be on ehr will be in a westen saddle. Hate changing the
stirrups on my OFs!
The pad never BUDGED, stayed where I put it, was an EXCELLENT fit, and when I
took it off, perfect sweat marks, no dry spots, BUT the PAD was ABSOLUTELY
DRY! Is THAT WEIRD?? I wnodered if anyone else has used this kind of pad. I
believe it was about $35. If this pad comes in other shapes and sizes, it
seems to me that this might be a great alternative to the types of pads we
use in endurance now. I am not clear on any level of heat build-up, but the
pad was DRY! It is SO WEIRD! Any ideas out there?
Sandy
