Rattlesnakes - dangerous when dead

Paul says:

When I had my saloon/riding stable in Nevada, my partner would saddle up
and go out snake hunting. He had a lucrative sideline making hat
bands. He would cut the heads off, throw the bodies in the saddle bags,
come back to the cabin, skin them and wash the skin in the kitchen. One
day a headless carcass laying in the sink came alive, slithered across
the sink and tried to go down the drain like it was a hole. John said
it was unnerving and very eerie! Remember, this snake not only had his
taken off hours before, but was now missing his skin!

Beware of dead snakes - especially if they've still got their heads on!
