anti-fly paint

We're getting into serious fly season here, and Egyptian flies are truly
something to be reckoned with.  My kids swear that they are faster and
smarter than flies other places...and they don't even hang around the horses
that much so they're just referring to house flies!  Anyway, a friend of
mine heard about a paint that repels/kills (?) flies and can be used on barn
walls.  Is this just a fairy story or maybe it's so toxic that it kills off
all the animals too, thereby removing the attractants?  Anyone ever heard
about this?
