easyboots
It had been a long time since I'd used an easyboot, but had to resort to one
at the Home on the Range ride. I had a dim, very dim, memory of the
procedure last time I used one. Somehow, I had to get the horse's hoof to
slip in. The instructions helped, on using webbing with the backstrap (of
course I always carry a slim length of webbing with me - actually a nylon
strap for my pommel bag served the purpose). The man at the neighboring
trailer came over and our two great minds finally got the boot on the horse.
And yes, I found something - a hoof pick - with which to pry the boot on.
This was the one and first ride I had forgottem my tool bag. Thank god for
the easyboot, though. We would not have been able to finish the last loop;
and thank goodness Griffen's is carrying them now since the one I had for
the ride fit a different horse.
