Sports Saddle questions

To any of you out there who use Sports Saddles...

How are you supposed to do up the cinch?  I did the usual
western thing but didn't have enough latigo left to make a
knot.  I don't like to depend on just the buckle.

Anyone who's had trouble with the Sports Saddle hurting
their horse's withers -- How did you know?  Behavior?  Dry
spots?

I finally got my long awaited endurance model.  It is HUGE!
I just had to get a bigger seat size!  I'm not positive that
it will be the perfect saddle for longer distance (we're
just starting conditioning) but for the first time I got an
even sweat pattern with no dry spots (I've tried 11 other
saddles now).  This saddle fitting thing is a pain!!!
