It's not really what your horse will eat or not eat, its why.
Horse's traveling are either stressed or anxious about something. The best
way to solve this problem is to stick with it and do it more. Ride slowly
and make the trip a pleasure as best as you can. When at home, part of
conditioning, is practicing pretend endurance rides. Go with buckets and
supplements just like you would do at going to a real ride. Make these short
trips close to home, even if you just trailer one - two miles away from the
barn. Until then I wouldn't try and add to much speed to your real rides.
