Hi Jerald - I'd like to gently point out that walkers were bred to go the
distance on plantations in the south, that is, relatively smooth, flat ground
- not what you will expect to find in a lot of endurance races. Some TWH can
stroll through some 50 milers, of course, but what happens when you add in the
rough ground, the mountains, the obstacles and the time factor? While every
breed will have individuals that can excel in some sport, the statistics show
that successful TWH endurance horse are rather few and far between! As they
say, why reinvent the wheel.
