No, it's a Brassica.  To quote the Canola Growers site:


OTOH,  there doesn't seem to be any reason not to use it in place of corn
oil -- other than the price is generally higher.

Canola oil is cheaper here than corn oil....it's grown and processed here!
OTOH, corn oil is liquid gold and I only use it on MY salads!
