Well, the only reason humans use 10 digits (base 10) and therefore have 10
possible states (they left out 0 - maybe horses are never born on dates that
result in a 0) is that we have a total of 10 digits on our hands. Now a
horse has only 2 digits on his forelegs which means only binary numbers
(base 2) should be admissable for a horse and therefore states 2 through 9
cannot exist in the horse: only state 1 and 0 (which is undefined by the
original poster). Therefore all horses are alpha mares or geldings that
wished they were.
