50 miles 2 weeks in a row
From Mary in Oregon. Yes I've done that. 4 weeks in a row one year. I am a
slow rider, usually finishing in the bottom third of the pack. One horse I
used had about 5 years of rides on him, usually around 900 miles per year.
I also did a multiday ride and rode him all 5 days 50 miles per day 2 years
in a row. My present endurance horse did 50 2 weeks in a row, had about 2
weeks rest and did two days of our Oregon multiday. If your horse is in
good shape I don't see any problem, just maybe ride a little slower if you
are in doubt. Your vet possibly hasn't been involved with multiday rides.
However, if your horse is tired after doing a 50, then a 50 the following
week may not be wise.
