Elavated gut sounds
Last week I went to a CTR. I usually do endurance but I go to a couple
of competitive rides a year. When I vetted in about 3:00 the vet said
my horse had elavated gut sounds and that he would be in trouble later.
The vet said she found that if a horse had elavated gut sounds at that
time of day that the horse would probably colic later. I have not heard
this before. My horse was just fine. I gave my horse probiotics that
morning. Was it the probiotics that gave him good gut sounds and maybe
she was not use to hearing them compared to the other horses? Could it
have been a little gas from the probiotics? He never acted like there
was anything wrong.
