The heartrate will come down with increased fitness which can be best achieved by
lots of LSD (meaning cantering). The heart is a muscle and needs to be developed
like any other muscle and will become more efficient with more work. Steve and
Dinah have a state of the art treadmill and do lots of it, I assure you.
Read Tom Ivers' book "The Fit Racehorse II" and you will learn TONS about proper
conditioning the RIGHT WAY.
