During a ride, I just add a pinch to each syringe I'm giving him throughout
the day (I'm goofing around with carbs during exercise, so just add some
probios to the same syringe), and I add an ounce or so to whatever mash he's
getting before, during and after. Not that he necessarily needs a full
ounce, but I know he's not going to clean up all his mash. I don't think
the exact amounts are critical, but like everything, I prefer small,
frequent doses of everything---with the exception of hay and water, of
course.
