<< Dear Tom Ivers;
I don't understand why the big fuss about your "carbo-loading" theory.
My horse goes into a ride with plenty of fat on him, eats and drinks
well before, during, and after a ride, and suffers no apparent energy
loss during the ride.
It could be dangerous to use any supplementation that may make a horse
feel better, and thus go faster, than he is ready to. Again, this is
not a big danger in racehorses, it is in endurance athletes.
To close, I am not disputing that carbo-loading is possibly good for
some horses, some of the time. I am saying it is not necessarily the
next best thing to sliced bread for all the horses all the time.

Again, we're not talking about carbo loading here. And there is one overriding
rule to live by: Don't fix what ain't broke. If your horse is doing everything
you want and showing no signs of fatigue, then you're doing the best for him
as it is. Change nothing.
