Big Horn saddles-Leather vs Synthetic?
Regarding Big Horn Endurance saddles--is everyone referring to the cordura
(synthetic) ones? I tried one of them awhile ago and I liked the way it fit me
(I felt very balanced in it. However it was too narrow for my horse and also I
had the same problem of the saddle sliding forward. Is it true that center
fire rigging would move the saddle forward more? And I suppose you would have
to use a crupper.
I have requested information from my local tack shop and SporTack on a Big
Horn Endurance saddle that is all leather. The photo of it looked really nice,
except it only comes in brown (I want black). It has a wider tree and 3/4
rigging I think (haven't received the info yet.) Of course ( I assume) it is
much more expensive than the synthetic. Anyone have any experience with the
leather Big Horn?
Lyn (still saddle hunting)
P.S. I sent away for info on the DeSoto saddles, but haven't received anything
yet.
