Hi Tom and Susan,

Point of interest....my 11 year old Arabian gelding, Gabriel, was lost over
a cliff on the Tevis trail in 1991.  He was found six weeks later, 70 feet
over the edge, on a rock shelf 10 feet by 20 feet which had a trickle of
water that filled a bowl-shaped depression at one end.  Absolutely nothing
to eat from July 31st to September 23rd.   He had indeed metabolized all of
his body fat, and much of his muscle mass.  He looked like a horsey
skeleton with a rug thrown over it.   I'm not going to tell the whole long
story here......but he completed the Mount Diablo 100 the next June.   Of
course, he's an incredible horse.
