truckdrivers attitudes and traveling

Just read post from Teddy and her attitude about some truck drivers.
Yes some are narrow minded, foul mouthed etc but there are plenty of good
ones who are willing to help too. I usually travel alone hauling the
trailer, always have CB, cell phone (and sometimes a rottweiler) Lots of
times I've used the CB asking for directions or even talking to drivers to
stay awake, once for help when I was broke down.... have NEVER had any
trouble w/ strangers stopping to help.
Couple months ago was driving back from FL, rainy night, and the fuel
filter light started flicking on and off. We were on a main highway, lots
of traffic, no safe place to pull off but I was worried all of a sudden the
truck would just sputter to a stop from bad fuel.
Had never had that light come on before, got on the CB, asking advise and
about 20 guys gave their opinions, offered to help etc.
One driver in a giant wrecker tow truck got behind my trailer, said he had
a shop about 10 miles at the next exit and would follow me to make sure we
didn't have any problems.

He followed me off the exit ramp to the shop, several men set up spotlites
in front of my pickup and changed the fuel filter(luckily had a spare)
they wouldn't even accept any $ for all their help!

Just had to share that w/ everyone- see they are not all bad.
