Bringing a handgun into Canada could have serious consequences. I'm a Canadian
and I disagree with our gun control but the law enforcement officers take it
very seriously. I know of an endurance rider who left his gun at home but the
border guards found a bullet for his handgun in the glove compartment. They
went through the whole rig looking for the gun. Unloaded horses etc.
Fortunrtly he did not have a gun with him. I believe you can leave your gun
at the border if you declare it and pick it up on your way home. Check with
officals first though as it has been afew years since I crossed the border on
a weekly basis and they may of changed the rules.
