I broke down (my old DODGE truck years ago-fuel injector) on a mountain in
Arizona at sunset with a snowstorm coming (pulling a horse trailer to boot).
at
least a dozen people stopped to help...I was wary (in the middle of nowhere)
but
everyone was great. When the highway partol finally found me, I had a LONG
conversation with the cop. He said certain types of people are "victims" and
that I was not one of them.

My sister-in-law recently thought a tire was going flat on her horse trailer
and pulled over on an interstate and was checking out the tires and a trucker
pulled in behind her and walked up and asked if he could help. She said she
thought she had a tire going flat but realized it wasn't. She opened the door
to the dressing room to throw in a light she had been using and this truck
driver tried to push her into the trailer. Luckily she squirmed away from him
and ran to the truck and jumped in and locked the doors and took off. She now
travels with a Rotty and a Jack Russell. It scarred her to death. You can
never be too sure. I absolutely will not let my wife go on a long trip
without our dogs if I can't go. I don't blame any women who travels by
themselves for showing up at a ride with a companion dog. Any you are right
Teddy, guns will only get you in trouble and possibly get you killed if the
intruder takes it away from you.
