Just a note: I'm a purebred dog fancier...maybe that's why I never let
my dogs run loose anywhere...it's the control thing of dog competitions
etc...I don't know, but the loose dog thing does not appeal to me in the
least! Others think dogs are supposed to socialize and have fun like the
people are...two different camps... o.k., but it doesn't handle why most
do not want someone's dog inviting itself into their space. ANYHOW, I
used to do some training of retrievers...I AM LOUD ...you have to be to
get the corrections and commands there in obedience and field work. My
range is incredible...so yes, I am a terror to a dog(s) trying to come
after me on a horse...I have chased them, and they usually back up in a
hurry...element of surprise and scary tone I reckon. It comes naturally
to me..it's an automatic reaction to disobedience. (I'm scaring myself..
this sounds awful....but it's true...I'll wager that the lady in the
fancy hat trained dogs). Have at it gal!
