Dogs again
Here is perhaps a silly suggestion but one that might help RMs enforce
their "Dogs kept on a leash or you will be DQ'd" threats. Teddy made
the point that RMs have a hard time enforcing the rules or are simply
reluctant to do so... DQs and being asked to leave are very serious
consequences and frankly, if I were a ride manager, that kind of
confrontation would be scary for me... how about a warning ticket with a
fine? Pay up, keep your dog under control and you can stay and be saved
from a DQ. If your dog continues to be a bother, BYE, BYE! A warning
may be all some of these people need...but then again, some people have
glove compartments full of unpaid tickets.. oh, well. Just a thought. I
am sure ridecampers and ride managers out there can refine and improve
that idea in a heartbeat! Please forgive me if someone has already
posted a similar idea....the previous debate took place during a period
of time when my computer had puked and as a result, I had 400+ mails to
wade through and did not read them all. Sorry!
Maggie
