Short endurance horses.....
My Donte is 14.1 (maybe, with shoes on) and I was just wondering, how
much height has to do with being a good endurance horse. I have
noticed a few ridecampers talking about their "tiny" "short" "small"
horses. (Makes me feel better BTW) Donte is compact, athletic but
rather petite, he has been mistaken for a mare on more than one
occasion! (Poor guy.) Does anyone out there have any theories on a
heighth advantage, or does it not matter at all. (personally, I tend
to look at the width of the chest, but what do I know!) (And my friend
Julie's horse Rayna is simply awesome at 14.0 hands, she has a super
wide chest though, great legs, super hooves and is just a machine! Yes
I am bragging about YOUR horse Julie!)
Heidi (and Mighte El Donte, ("Mom, are they blind, can they not tell
by my macho attitude that I am all male?")
